Let’s be honest: if you’re doing your stag or hen do at the pub round the corner, you’ve basically surrendered already. Vegas, baby. Or leave it. Here’s the gloriously unfiltered plan for that last, slightly unhinged burst of freedom.
Rule no. 1: What happens in Vegas…
…you know the rest. But before anything happens, you need the fundamentals sorted: 3 nights is the sweet spot (2 is too short, nobody survives 4), a direct flight or one stop max, and a hotel ON the Strip – not «just 15 minutes away». In Vegas terms, those 15 minutes are about as truthful as a buffet price.
Day 1: Pool party instead of jet lag
The fix for jet lag isn’t a nap. It’s a daybed at one of those legendary pool parties. Flamingo shirts for the guys, bride-squad sashes for the girls – yes, obviously it’s a cliché. That’s the point. And if anyone thinks they’re above it, fine: they’re buying the first round.
Day 2: The big night
Start with a show (Cirque du Soleil or one of the flashy residencies), then dinner, then the club. The most important piece of Vegas wisdom? The bride/groom never goes anywhere alone. Buddy system, like at the pool, just with more sequins. Also: make your phones waterproof. Don’t ask. You’ll learn soon enough.
Day 3: Downtown, Elvis & the hangover
Fremont Street is old-school Vegas, loud and gloriously over the top: the Neon Museum, a zipline over the crowd, and an Elvis on what feels like every corner, happily blessing your spontaneous «wedding rehearsal». Ideal for the photos you’ll one day show your grandkids. The others? Delete those immediately.
Budget: honesty instead of surprises
Work it out per person: flight from around 450–700 CHF, hotel in a double room 60–120 CHF/night (much cheaper on weekdays!), shows 80–150 CHF, plus a party budget based on honest self-assessment, then add half again. Vegas will forgive many things. Delusional maths isn’t one of them.
The money move nobody knows
From Sunday to Thursday, Vegas costs about half what it does at the weekend: same pools, same shows, same neon lights. Do the send-off midweek and you might still have enough left for a suite with a Strip view. And THAT is exactly the sort of entrance this story deserves.
